Goat Knoll Shetland wool blend sock yarn is 70% Shetland wool and 30% nylon. The Shetland wool is from the sheep on our farm and yarn was spun at an Oregon mill. The nylon has been added to provide additional strength to the sock so that it will handle the abrasian given to our beloved hand knit socks by our feet and shoes. The skeins are hand dyed using bright colors over our natural toasty brown sock yarn. Skeins are 1-1/2 ounces and contain 200 yds. Recommended knitting needle size - US 2's (2.75 or 3.0 mm). Warning: 200 yards is not enough yarn to make most pairs of socks, unless they are very short ones. Red sold out.
